To anyone I missed yesterday, and if I missed you, I'm sorry. If you're interested in my singing audition, please e-mail me at my school address. I'll gladly send you the packet. I tried to catch everyone who expressed an interest to me. Otherwise, we'll see you on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Mr. Bair,

Thanks for the info; I got it yesterday in orchestra. I will be there Tuesday. However, I have a question: the paper says that the auditions will be from 6:30-8:30; does that mean that we should go home first and then come back to school?

Secondly, and this one is just for the sake of what to tell my dad, must we stay for the entire thing, or just until our audition is over?

Finally, when and where can I find out what the results of the auditions are?

Thanks,

Ian

Mr.Bair, the paper said that the songs would be practiced all Tuesday. Does that mean after school or during 4th period?

hey mr. Bair kind went crazy on Friday when I got the audition music from Matt. So depending if the crazyness comes back I may show up on Tuesday. But if it dosn't what do you want me to do with the paper and music because the music got loaded on my computer?

Ps. To Matt and Shanin if you read this spare me your reating or nagging.

Blogger Mr. Bair said...

I'll try to answer all the questions at once....nervous children....

1. You may stay after school on Tuesday if you wish. I won't be going anywhere.

2. As for the amount of time you will need to stay, it would be exponentially easier for me just to ask everyone to stay the entire time. I have to do a male, female, and a duet. I would like to do them in that order. If you have to go, you have to go.

3. As for results, unfortunately, this is only one of two auditions. If I can find five male voices, I will proceed with this title, and I'll need an acting audition, most likely after school on Thursday or Friday. If not, I need to shift gears to another plan.

4. We will be practicing in class on Thursday, and you, of course, may practice after school.

5. Yes, we're using microphones.

6. Please return all discs to me on Wednesday.

MjB

P.S. Practice...record yourself singing. It's the best way to hear what and where you're missing a pitch.

Hi Mr. Bair.

I'm obviously a little out of the loop on this whole thing, but that's okay because I can't sing anyways (I actually did record myself, and it was quite terrible ^.^ ). Anyways, I'd like to help. Can I come talk to you during third lunch shift on Tuesday?

You should make the acting auditions on Friday, because I had to take off work on Tuesday to make it to this one, and I don't feel like taking off work again.

Hey Bair,
Just wondering, if you know you cant sing well, should you still audition for the singing if you want a good part or just wait untill friday?

9:26 PM
Blogger Mr. Bair said...

Jessie,

As I said in the paper, being able to sing, even a little, moves you up the depth chart faster. Besides, you can sing. You have no confidence, and you're scared. That's different from "I can't sing." OK?

Mr. Bair, is it all right if I make an emergency decision to only audition to act? That would really be preferable, I think. After a bit of listening to myself, I figure there is probably no point in putting myself, let alone others, through the task of me singing. I would, however, still love to act, and, of course, I am open to suggestions about tonight.

*sigh* I begged...I pleaded...I bribed...to be honest I never thought they would be this negative towards it...but my parents have decided that it is too much of a hassle to drive 15 minutes to Boonsboro. So much so that I've apparently lost permission to even be in the play at all. So I can't come to auditions and because I live in the opposite direction as everyone else, carpooling isn't really an option for me, I'd ask for help in convincing them, but after the 6th or 7th "No" I've kind of lost all hope.

I asked again Mr. Bair. They said no once again because they don't want me riding with anyone else (they're paranoid like that). Not to mention how if I had to gauge what my chances were of asking again, and them saying yes, on a scale of 1-10 (1 being a no) then I would fall somewhere around -200 (my own stupid fault).
