The Last Two Days of Shooting....Sort of....

OK....here is the deal. I am listing the schedule below for the next two days. We MUST adhere to this schedule and meet this deadline. Unlike early in the process, I have NO DESIRE or WILLINGNESS to film any missed scenes. We're close to finishing this.

FRIDAY

3:30-4:00 Auditorium for recording of "Angels We Have Heard on High", and that includes every single one of you who are coming to film tomorrow.

4:00-6:30 We're going down in front of the Trolley Station to film the two street scenes. Wear WARM CLOTHING! WEAR LAYERS! We could shoot this in an hour if you don't fool around. All you have to do is walk, and mouth some words, and that will be it.

6:30-7:00 This is transition time back to the school and the auditorium. Your ride can pick you up in town if you so choose.

7:00-? This time is reserved for the GREENSCREENING EFFECTS on the THIRD GHOST and the MARLEY'S ENTRANCE. This is for the die hards only!

SATURDAY

10:00 Arrive at school for makeup. First Ghost, Second Ghost, Scrooge, Cratchit and Makeup Folks

11:00 Film Crew Arrive

12:00 Shots of the Second Ghost in Boonsboro showing sites of every day people.

12:45 Head to Keedysville.

1:00 First Ghost on a Country Road. Scrooge's Youth I need extras dressed as everyday workers.

2:00 Outside Scrooge's Office with Bob Cratchit and HOPEFULLY, the Two Gentlemen from Act One. I need extras in every day clothing.

3:00 LUNCH....pack something or run to the Red Bird.

3:30 Fezziwig's Party, Part One...Prior to the actual party

5:00-8:00 Fezziwig's party and Drama dinner. You need to bring a covered dish to account for every person you're bringing. NO JEANS and/or T-Shirts. It's supposed to be the 1950's.

Questions and/or Concerns:

MjB

P.S. Thanks Sarah! I have questions for you! Mikaela, are you a blond? I didn't know that. "OEDIPUS REX" http://www.ancient-mythology.com/greek/oedipus_rex.php

I shall be there both days ready and willing, My only 2 questions are; 1, for both days as extras do we need to wear nice clothing or just for the fezzywig party? and 2, my parents are leaving to visit Emily in Philly for her B-Day, the latest they could get me to the school on saturday would be 9, would you be there by then or not untill 10 with the make up people? ( I dont mind waiting outside for an hour, Ill dress warm.)

At your Disposal Always,

The only thing I'm unsure of at this point is what time we can get in the church. I have a key, but we need the hall empty and someone from the congregation to be there with us...my parents are working/away, so i'm working getting someone else who isn't busy tomorrow...

If anyone is in the church, they should be out by about 2:30, my mom can be with us from 2-5, and Shannon Strong's mom can be there from 5-8. However, ny dad won't be around to open the town hall, so we shall have to live with a shot through the window. Phew! I think that's all...

Hey Mr. Bair,

Sorry about the computer thing today. I was just going to drop off my cues for Act 2 and go (today was my only convenient day between now and Tuesday to do so), but I guess that battery pack had other things in mind. Hope everything is still in order.

Ian

PS: Hopefully by tomorrow morning, I will have the entire score done (minus God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and the Fezziwig Party Scene). I will try to drop it off then, but no guarantees.

PPS: If it's all right with you, I'll just write a drum line for Act 4, and between that and Marley's Theme you can loop it all you want to fill the time.

Oh, except, I was planning to use Tiny TIm's Theme for Scene 4 and Scrooge's Theme--Tiny Tim Development for Scene 5.

Mr. Bair-
I'm attempting to type a paper right now, but my format has one glich that I know I will lose points over. For some reason, there is a spot in the middle of a paragraph that is indented, but no matter what I click, move, or type, it doesn't change. (It's Word 2007.) Any ideas?
Thanks!

It sounds like you copied and pasted something. Church is starting now, but call later if problem persists.

Ummmmm.....it will take as long to edit the film as it took to shoot it...honestly....unless someone pulls off a miracle....it won't be ready until January at some point. Sorry.

I did copy and paste something in there, but the persitant indent isn't near there....the problem persists, but it would be far too rude to call at 11 o'clock. It's alright though...

10:56 PM
Blogger Ian said...

Oh.... Well, maybe I'll get to see the showing after all (If the 17 and 18, I wouldn't have been able to).

Please e-mail me the audio files.

Ian

PS: I probably can't get them to you by Tuesday anymore, but then I suppose I don't have to.

Ian....I left the files at school. Sorry....I'll get them tomorrow. It's the cut and paste Sarah...trust me....As for dates, we'll talk tomorrow.

Okay!
Everyone auditioning for The Seagull.

There are three short "scenes" that you will need to prepare.

The first is on page 3 and begins with Peter's line "Do you know Constantine, I like literary men..." and goes through page 5 where Constantine says "I love you". This is Nina's first appearance in the play. She must seem naive from the moment she walks on stage. Here's a definition of naive- having or showing a lack of experience, judgment, or information. Nina is lacking all of these things. Make sure you communicate this! You won't have to kiss for auditions, don't worry, BUT, this scene establishes Nina and Constantine's relationship. Don't be afraid to show some signs of affection. They are very playful and childish. It's young love, you guys should be good at this. ;) Oh, and make sure that "I love you" is sincere.

The next starts on page 6 with Constantine's line "Attention ladies and gentlemen!" and ends on page 7 at the bottom where Constantine storms out of the room. This section involves every character, even though they may not have speaking lines they are all present. Constantine is very nervous/excited about the debut of his play, Irina is super snobby and rude. PLAY IT UP. Also, this is Nina's first time acting. She is supposed to do a pretty good job, so make those speeches interesting. Think about this "eternal spirit" that Nina plays. In the end of this segment Constantine throws a fit and storms off. Don't be afraid to get angry, boys.

The third, and final portion begins on page 26 at the top with Irina's line "The cab will be here soon and ends on the top of page 27 with Barrett saying "I will go with you, but don't let me leave your side." Irina starts out being her normal stuck-up self but as this scene progresses she becomes angry, sad and desperate. Don't be afraid to be overly-dramatic. IRINA IS ALWAYS OVERLY-DRAMATIC. Barrett is in a daze, and has no concern at all for what Irina's pleas. He wants Nina, and at first he's intent on getting her. He only changes his mind because he thinks of another way he can be with her.

Alright, don't be afraid to let go. This play is all about letting go. I want to see who can go up there and create a character. LET GOOOOOOOOO, give it everything you have within you, and also have fun. :)

(Don't forget callbacks will be on Friday.)

Post questions!
Thanks,
Alora

They are Thursday after school, Brianne. You'll probably want to get a script tomorrow. Mr. Bair will have them.

thank you =D

Blogger Saaaraaah said...

Should these scenes be memorized or just familiar?

12:30 AM
Blogger ALORA said...

If you memorize them, more power to you. I believe that memorization helps a person internalize and better portray what is happening in the scene.

Don't stress yourself out over memorization, though. If you feel that you can do your best with the script in your hand then use it. =]

Alora,
what if the charachter we are auditioning for has no speaking lines on those pages?

3:15 PM
Blogger ALORA said...

Well, I would like everyone to audition for a character who does have lines on those pages. At auditions I will have you write which character you would really like to play, buuuut for now, choose one of those speaking characters.

Thanks!
