CONGRATULATIONS

I am proud of all of you. However, for those of you who don't know, the Drama Scholarship was awarded to Emily Reese and Ana Jantz. Each will receive $500 from the Drama account. I only wish I could give more. John Watkins, Ryan Willard, and Will Davis also won the award, but more importantly, they win the "You the Man!" award with me.

It was a great night. I had to go, but I would love to know what else I missed!

Congratulations to all the winners of everthing tonight! It's weird thinking that so many of you are going to be gone next year. I wish you all the best of luck!

Chris,

It's a DVD, I believe. Try a DVD drive.

My computer doesn't have a DVD drive! I probably have to use my brother's computer...

Dang E-machines...

I used this DVD on two other computers that had DVD drives. One read it as a .cda file with a running time of 0:00 and wouldn't let me play it on Movie Maker. I couldn't find a way to convert it. The other one just flat out wouldn't read the DVD. What's the file extension on here? I checked the file list Movie Maker supported, and .mpeg2 wasn't on there. .mpeg was. .mpg was. .mpv2 was. Is all this because we all have 5 year old computers?

And if this all due to some comical oversight, I feel really stupid.

Mine's an e-machines. The one that wouldn't read it was a Toshiba, and the one that read it as .cda was an hp.

Thank you Mr. Bair, and thank you drama. It is quite an honor to be given this award, and it is going to be a huge help this summer for college. Though, truth be told, drama has given me much more than I could ever return in other ways alone.
Also, thank you John, Will and Ryan--you guys are really awesome.
And congratulations Ryan on the Nora Roberts Scholarship!

Senor Oso, could you make a blog post asking who is interested in going to Staunton, Virginia on Saturday the 16th to see a Midsummer Night's Dream in its final performance?

I have to contact them, but I would like to be able to give them an estimate so I can get ticket prices and whatnot. Are we school or drama associated, by the way, or are we just a private group that happens to be theatrically inclined? Schools get discounts, I do believe.

yes! Julia! I meant to talk to you. I posted a comment about it a few posts ago, but no one said anything, so folks, please let us know!

I hope I stay here. I've invested too much in this class for it to go to waste.

Mr. Bair?
"First thing in the morning" is going to have to be a subjective term. My mother has informed me that I'm getting my fingerprints taken at 8:30 tommorrow morning for my summer job. I'll get the memory stick to you as soon as I get to school--hopefully before the end of first period.

Okay, now I'm home. I will now attempt to make a better movie. The fate of the Western World depends on it (The Eastern World doesn't matter here)! Wish me luck! (takes a nosedive)

20 minutes into this, and I already have a problem. My computer doesn't want to look at the DVD burner. It says "Drive E is not accessible. Incorrect Function." This is where the real friends show up...

Mandy, sorry, I'll be working constantly over the summer. Chris, sorry, when I fight computers they usually win. I don't have a clue, but some of you technically minded people might.

Actually, back when I was getting music videos shot to Hades, I scraped by by making the movie in Windows Movie Maker and just saving to CD. I'm told the picture quality's not great, but you don't have to hassle with DVDs.

DISCLAIMER: In my entire Drama career I edited exactly three films, I'm not proud of any of them, and I know less about computers than the average eight year old. I'm just sharing what worked for me once.

Julia & Mandy, I can't go to Midsummer on the 16th because I have performance with the theatre troupe at my church. But I am interested in going over the summer to see more of their shows, so let me know if you plan to do that.

You know, at first I thought the problem was that the DVD drive was USB 2.0 and my computer doesn't have that. So I decided to use my dad's computer (which none of us are allowed to use under any circumstances), the most powerful and high-end computer in my house, and I got the same error message as before: Drive J (this time it was J) is not accessible. Incorrect function. So it's obviously not a problem of the USB port. Sigh...I'm getting really ticked off here...

It's no use! I've tried everything. After the last post, it hit me: a way to get it to work. I used the forbidden computer again. I put the DVD in the DVD drive of the computer, and do you know what it read as? Nothing. I also put a CD into that thing I took home, thinking it was supposed to convert the DVD to a CD. It still said incorrect function. I can't get it to work! I don't think it's even on here! I'm a loser! I'm screwed for life!!

Hey Mr. Bair, Two quick things:
1. Has anyone seen an external harddrive, especially in Mr. Bair's room?
and
2. When are you going to be at the school tomorrow and this week? Regular school hours?
Thanks!

Hey Mr. Bair,
It turns out I probably won't be in town Monday morning through Wednesday night. We will have to work something out for Much Ado either Thursday or get another volunteer.
Sorry!
