Summer News and Issues and Updates and Too Many "Ands"

Greetings to One and All!

I haven't forgotten about you. I have not been at home very much at this point in the summer. My wife and children seem to think that they are the sole possessors of my attention the moment that summer arrives. They carry me to faraway lands, like West Virginia, where there is barely electrical service and plumbing. Thus, I have been out of touch. It's about to occur again.

As usual, there is a large amount of behind the scenes activity at the school. However, I want to keep you updated in order for you to ignore the rumors. Instead of boring you with details, I am going to list the following information for your perusal:

1. Cinematography will be semester one.
2. According to the schedule, which I don't believe, I am scheduled for three Drama classes and Cinematography. Don't hold your breath.
3. There has been no progress on "Much Ado" DVD's. I haven't been to school.
4. I haven't attended a graduation party, and I apologize. I haven't been in town a single weekend.
5. Some of you have materials in my room, and I don't know what to do about them. If you're missing something, please inquire, or I will trash it!
6. Emily and Ana, I have the checks for the scholarships. We need to determine a time to get them to you.

GOOD NEWS and POSSIBLE PURCHASES

1. I received an e-mail from Sony offering three of their software titles for $99. These are the home versions of Vegas, Sound Forge, etc. I wasn't sure which three to get, and then, I came up with the brilliant idea of buying three of the same! Thus, we have added three copies of the home version of Vegas to the Drama arsenal. I think that this will definitely help with Cinematography because it will put all of us on the same page while utilizing the main copy of Vegas more effectively.

2. I believe that it is absolutely necessary to purchase a solid laptop at this point. If you have any thoughts or suggestions concerning this, please speak now. The old laptop is just not getting the job done anymore. It continues to develop issues on a daily basis, and I have no intention of putting any more money into it.

3. It also my belief that I need to purchase another video camera. I will gladly accept input on that thought process as well.

I'M LEAVING AGAIN......

1. This weekend, and I can be reached by cellular phone, but I probably won't have an Internet connection.

2. Next Friday through July 10th. For all of you who have grown to love my 4th of July picnic, I will be holding it at a later date. Again, I don't know whether or not there will be an Internet connection, but I suspect that the answer is "yes."

You can e-mail me, but I'll be honest, it's hit or miss these days. I'm hoping that game night can resume some time after I return, and I PROMISE....I AM NOT GOING ON ANOTHER TRIP AFTER THIS ONE!

Word.....

well, it's exciting to hear from you. haha. I think that we should get another laptop and camera. It was hard enough this year trying to edit with two computers and three groups, I can't imagine more groups and the same amount of computers. As for the camera, I think it's good for us to have one so people don't have to borrow other people's, not that there's anything wrong with it, but it can create problems.

To all you cinematographers out there: I will be sticking around for the next four years or so (as of now), and I plan to major in Music Composition. Ergo, if any of you need music for your movies, let me know. It comes in handy if you ever want to sell them or anything crazy like that, being as you don't have to secure copyright from some big-name company in order to be legal. I'm not saying I'll be 100% available for the next four years, but if you're interested, I'll see what I can do. Plus, it gives me an excuse to visit Drama.

I'll provide further information when I acquire it, but the Summer Shakespeare Intensive students are putting on a night of scenes and monologues and sonnets on July 3rd!

I'll post more information on my myspace and livejournal, as well.

Do hope you'll keep your schedules open. =)

July 3rd? I'll actually be home! Thanks Julia.
Mr. Bair, remember that speech you gave back in Drama I about how the more painful the delivery the more you love the child? Yeah, if that applies to movies I'm going to REALLY love "Pete." It will get finished, gosh darn it!

American Lit., Public Speaking, History of Civ. I, Chorus I, and Intro to Electronic Music. The best part is that Monday through Thursday, my classes are from roughly 1-3, and Friday my only class is 9-11:45. So my entire weekend is essentially free. Until I get a job, that is.... I'll let you all know where I end up working so you can come visit me :)

VERY GOOD NEWS! I'm back from the wild world of Hollywood, and have brought back a professional quality, 16 audio channel, HD capture card for drama! To make a long story short, the fiancee of my aunt works in the capture card buisness, and gave me this card that he got for free as a gift, and i dont need it untill im out of college, so i figured, why not give it to drama on indefinite loan untill than!

Truthfully, i dont know much about it or how to use it because i dont have an HD camera, but it comes with a manual on disc that my uncle in law wrote himself. I figure that this is one step in the direction of getting an HD camera. now if only we had a blu-ray burner....
