I thought the play was very dark, but it had just enough self-awareness not to make it a grim affair. I laughed at some things I thought were in-jokes (like Jacob's long hair). Constantine's suicide offpit was much better than if he had done it on the pit.
I really liked the idea of using the pit. It did make it feel intimate, and considering the mess the stage is in, it was an excellent and ingenious use of space. Plus I sat in a spot I wouldn't have otherwise, which gave a new perspective on the set and characters. Everyone was awesome, by the way. Jacob was probably my favorite. Or maybe Cole and his Harry Potter glasses.
I thought the ending was anti-climatic and abrupt. There wasn't much of a catharsis, but the ending song sure was haunting. It was an interesting break from the usual practice of energetically running up and bowing. I thought it was funny that the last thing I saw before the lights faded was Nic's tie.
Alora and everyone else did a wonderful job. I'm glad you all pick interesting plays, as opposed to High School Musical (which Smithsburg High did a couple years back if I remember). Keep up the great work everyone!
GREAT JOB EVERYONE! I LOVED THE PLAY BOTH TIMES AND CAME CLOSER TO CRYING AT SOMETHING MADE-UP THAN I HAVE IN A LONG TIME! Just thought I'd throw that out there.
Mr. Bair, if at all possible, and you are willing, would you please bring your video stabilizer to school tomorrow so that I may make MVP a DVD of his class videos?
I would just like to thank you once again for allowing me to switch into Drama 2. I know it's a little crowded in their with me, So I will try my best to not displease you in Any Manner.
