Clarifications....

The scene we are using for auditions comes directly from a play entitled "The Importance of Being Earnest." A synopsis can be found here: http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/earnest/summary.html. In short, this is only being used for the audition speech and is not the play upon which we're embarking.

Instead, since this is the same scene we're using in first period, I decided to use it for the audition as well. This will give some consistency and credibility to our processes. However, to repeat, this is not the play we are performing.

As for audition recommendations, please consider all of the following:

1. Memorization is not required, but it dies say a gray deal about your dedication.

2. While the characters were British in the original, this version was Americanized. Thus, an accent isn't required. If you want to try one, I won't stop you.

3. You will be auditioning with other people; you will not be acting by yourself.

4. Blocking isn't necessary or useful.

5. These characters are larger than life. Let go.

Please post questions, and don't be afraid to search the Youtubes of the world. The key iis to follow directions.

Uh.......sure. Honestly, I would LOVE to have an acting part. But my ability to make it to rehearsals would be limited.

Not necessarily. We could probably get by with an hour a day, three days a week.

Before I left yesterday, I didn't actually request the rights to the one act. I got freaked out by the different forms and couldn't figure them out. Sorry. Perhaps you can assist me with that on Monday?

That is very, very tempting.... When would rehearsals start, and when will the performance be?

Even that's negotiable. We're doing a series of one-acts, with some "bonus" entertainment that you should see me about. We're doing it over two different weekends in April, so there is flexibility that way. I can even find a home for Ari,for, I miss her so....

That sounds good. Will you still be at school at 5 o'clock on Tuesday? Maybe Ari and I could talk to you about it then?

Mr. Bair, I have 4 watchamacallits to address. The first involves that video capture I was attenpting. 2- About what time will orientation end tomorrow? 3- I found something cool in the woods today, it looked like it had been out there for quite a while, but it might still work. 4- How are you this lovely weathered day?

Wait, Their is an orientation tomorrow?... Should I attend or have I officially been left out of the loop?

You are not left out of the loop. There are more Drama II-V's than Drama I's. We are doing the best we can. Cole, what are you talking about? This day had its ups and downs. Thanks.

Actually, I realized maybe ten minutes ago that Tuesday doesn't work for me either, so that's fine. Wednesday should work for me, so I guess I'll come see you then.

Dear Mr. Bair, I am hereby reminding you to look up Neti Pots as a potential solution to your sinus problems, and have included a handy link to a website talking about them.

they can be purchased pretty much anywhere, mom got hers at Walmart.

Mr. Bair

I told Lana what you said about us having to memorize the lines for auditions, she is quite horrified. Do you think you could make an exception for her? I am trying my best to help her but she leads a busy schedule .

Aaron, that command was for your class, not for anyone outside of first period.
