I'm Somewhat Back Among the Living, and.....

I need Sarah H. to contact me this afternoon about casting. Then, I must talk with Cole this afternoon, and it is imperative that he contact me. After that, I am hoping casting can be completed. I apologize for the delay. Things happen for a reason. Happy Palm Sunday!

Clarifications....

The scene we are using for auditions comes directly from a play entitled "The Importance of Being Earnest." A synopsis can be found here: http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/earnest/summary.html. In short, this is only being used for the audition speech and is not the play upon which we're embarking.

Instead, since this is the same scene we're using in first period, I decided to use it for the audition as well. This will give some consistency and credibility to our processes. However, to repeat, this is not the play we are performing.

As for audition recommendations, please consider all of the following:

1. Memorization is not required, but it dies say a gray deal about your dedication.

2. While the characters were British in the original, this version was Americanized. Thus, an accent isn't required. If you want to try one, I won't stop you.

3. You will be auditioning with other people; you will not be acting by yourself.

4. Blocking isn't necessary or useful.

5. These characters are larger than life. Let go.

Please post questions, and don't be afraid to search the Youtubes of the world. The key iis to follow directions.
