Merry Christmas!

I'm sorry I'm so late this year, but I've been battling health issues for the past week. I do pray that each of you has a blessed Christmas. Follow the star!

Now What????

Other than the last day of school, I can think of no time I enjoy more than the last day before Christmas break. Sigh....I will admit....in the past few days I have managed to "rediscover" myself, and so I happily accept this blessing. It will serve all of you well in the long run.

As for the movie, it's imperative that I get an update from those of you who are editing despite the break. In other words, I need to know what is finished and what is not finished. As for computers, this will be a bit tricky. We'll iron out those details once I see where everyone is.

As for "The Seagull", I believe I speak for Alora when I say that you should be memorizing lines. Nothing is more important. Remember, in the new regime, if you don't know your lines, we will replace you or dismantle the show. Alora, please post your expectations for your cast.

As for my schedule, I WILL APPEAR AT SCHOOL TOMORROW FROM 2:00-3:00, and that's it until further notice. I will be leaving town for a bit before returning, and I'll let you know when that is. I am hoping to spend an afternoon at BHS over the break to "edit together" and make corrections/suggestions. Oh yes...I think I'll do a little cleaning too.

I really need updates, and I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY need to talk to Ian K. Ari??? Would you like to edit? Sarah H. would probably love to join you? Anyone else? Jacob, Zandra, Colonel Sanderson? Where are you? I need an update please.

P.S. I will reply much later this evening. Honestly, I will miss all of you tomorrow. It's a day with many blessings, but you will be on my mind. Remember, you can reach me at school from 2:00-3:00 tomorrow if you need equipment, hard drives, etc.

The Double Casting Dilemma

Hello....I have been trying to answer the proliferation of e-mails that have suggested double casting to me, and it hit me that it would be easier to explain it here. Double casting is, in the most honest terms I can express, double work for a director. It is done, regardless of pain and suffering,to allow as many people as possible to experience lead roles. I'll continue to utilize whenever necessary, but it won't be used in this case.

It would be horribly unfair and unrealistic to ask Alora to deal with a double cast, and all of the goodies that come with it. She has a large enough challenge in front of her. I know that many of you are disappointed, and with four female parts, that is to be expected. You should talk to me about the specifics of your situation though. Double casting just isn't the answer at this point in time.

The Last Two Days of Shooting....Sort of....

OK....here is the deal. I am listing the schedule below for the next two days. We MUST adhere to this schedule and meet this deadline. Unlike early in the process, I have NO DESIRE or WILLINGNESS to film any missed scenes. We're close to finishing this.

FRIDAY

3:30-4:00 Auditorium for recording of "Angels We Have Heard on High", and that includes every single one of you who are coming to film tomorrow.

4:00-6:30 We're going down in front of the Trolley Station to film the two street scenes. Wear WARM CLOTHING! WEAR LAYERS! We could shoot this in an hour if you don't fool around. All you have to do is walk, and mouth some words, and that will be it.

6:30-7:00 This is transition time back to the school and the auditorium. Your ride can pick you up in town if you so choose.

7:00-? This time is reserved for the GREENSCREENING EFFECTS on the THIRD GHOST and the MARLEY'S ENTRANCE. This is for the die hards only!

SATURDAY

10:00 Arrive at school for makeup. First Ghost, Second Ghost, Scrooge, Cratchit and Makeup Folks

11:00 Film Crew Arrive

12:00 Shots of the Second Ghost in Boonsboro showing sites of every day people.

12:45 Head to Keedysville.

1:00 First Ghost on a Country Road. Scrooge's Youth I need extras dressed as everyday workers.

2:00 Outside Scrooge's Office with Bob Cratchit and HOPEFULLY, the Two Gentlemen from Act One. I need extras in every day clothing.

3:00 LUNCH....pack something or run to the Red Bird.

3:30 Fezziwig's Party, Part One...Prior to the actual party

5:00-8:00 Fezziwig's party and Drama dinner. You need to bring a covered dish to account for every person you're bringing. NO JEANS and/or T-Shirts. It's supposed to be the 1950's.

Questions and/or Concerns:

THANK YOU and This Week's Schedule

Hello...I can't tell you how grateful I am to all of you who came to help with the deconstruction yesterday. We managed to get it done just in time, and that was a major plus. Again, thanks.

As for this week, we will finish all filming no matter what. According to my estimates, about 80% of the film has been shot. Thus, the massive editing process will also begin at full steam. Thus, here's the plan:

Monday: Undertaker Scene: Trolley House until 7:00.

Tuesday: All ghosts except Spirit of Christmas Present

Wednesday: Nephew scene at the Reese's house

Thursday: Misc scenes TBA

Friday: The big street scenes until 7:00 at the Trolley Station

Saturday: First ghost leftovers and Fezziwig Scene in Keedysville. Times TBA. Remember...this is a covered dish dinner. Details in school!

Please post concerns.

Tomorrow's Times Are Confirmed!

Hey! We are destructing at 9:00-12:00 or until we're finished. We will head to Sarah's grandmothers at 12:30-1:00, and we should be back at school at 6:00. I have to deconstruct tomorrow no matter what. I would love your help, but do nothing to endanger yourself. I don't want that. Please post questions. All I demand is communication.
